How to Upgrade to iOS 5 beta 3
Another two weeks have come and gone since the last release of the beta for iOS 5. Today, iOS 5 beta 3 is upon us, and here’s the goods.
For developers:
1) Log onto developer.apple.com with your apple ID
2) Download iTunes 10.5 beta 3
3) Download Firmware for your respective device(s)
4) Plug in your device, and press ‘Option’ while clicking on Restore in iTunes
5) Point the installation to the newly downloaded firmware
6) Wait (Good things comes to those who wait)
7) You are up and running
Please be advised of the following issues with iOS 5 beta 3:
- Beta 3 users can’t imessage with beta 1 users, but can with beta 2 users
- FaceTime function is missing from the settings apps
- Restore from backup not possible from beta 1 backups
New Features:
1) New Customizable Accessibility Quick Menu interface that builds upon Accessibility Services
2) More comprehensive control over different Location Services
3) Much faster and smoother experience from the last beta
